What You’ll Be Able to Do
- Identify observable posture, gesture, facial, vocal and spatial behaviours during the opening minutes of a sales meeting, while separating observation from interpretation.
- Demonstrate ethical rapport and calibrated mirroring across different client preferences, status relationships and cultural contexts.
- Apply a cluster-and-context method to distinguish stronger buying interest from polite engagement and to select an appropriate next question.
- Analyse discomfort and cognitive-load deviations that may precede objections, then test interpretations through respectful verbal follow-up.
- Analyse multi-party negotiation dynamics to map influence, likely decision roles and shifts in alignment without assuming that the most vocal person is the decider.
- Evaluate decision-moment signals and choose whether to ask for commitment, clarify risk, pause or reschedule.
- Design and deliver a video-call sales approach that improves camera presence, turn-taking, observation quality and decision follow-through while acknowledging remote-reading limits.

Course Curriculum

After this module, the learner can conduct a structured pre-meeting read, establish a behavioural baseline and record observations without prematurely labelling a prospect as interested, resistant or deceptive. The method builds on Hall’s work on proxemics and the practical observation discipline described by Pease [Body Language How to Read Others Thoughts by Their Gestures, pp.18-19].
